You Know What I Heard?
Or read somewhere...I forget. That the largest number of bloggers, by far, are those who write about the news or politics. Given. But, and get this, that the second largest number of bloggers write about...fiber arts. Hmm, I thought. How would you know? Could you take a census, I wondered? Is there a way to count us? I think these folks surveyed the major servers and kind of extrapolated. The idea is perc
olating.
On the knitting front, I'm closing in on the second Cedar Creek Socks that Rock Sock. About an inch and a half till the toe decreases. Photos of it when it's done. And I realized as I looked around at all the cool socks floating around that I didn't include a picture of mine on. Here you go...my Sockapaloooza socks? They definitely fit. Thanks again, Carla!
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Stash
Here's what else I heard...Pat got the Sisterhood of the Traveling Stash box yesterday. She's "pawing through" as I type (her words, not mine)...well, she's probably sleeping as she pulled like a 20 hour shift yesterday, but she'll paw some more later. And she has the next victim recipient. I say that because the box weighed a whopping 12 1/2 pounds when I mailed it. Thats $15 regular post, almost $19 priority. Yikes. You still have time to pull out if that's too steep...but the random number generator has spoken and I've sent an address to Pat so you'll have to speak up quick. If I haven't gotten your address or black-out dates yet, please send them along...the generator is antsy...And we still have one more slot -- remember, you've got to have a blog (now would be a good time to set one up -- they're free at yahoo)...See y'all later. Oh, and go knit some bone!

Love you socks. Aren't they fun to knit? I usually knit a pair or 20 around another larger project, so it takes forever to finish them, but I love them. I was horrified to read that you were so close to that awful fire. That had to be unnerving. I live out in the county near the airport. Only a couple of historic homes out here.

Great Scot! Those are great socks. I'm still in on the Sisterhood. I sent you blackout dates, didn't I?

Oh my heck - yarn gets heavy when you pack it in like that!! heh
The info I've heard says that Knitting Blogs, specifically, are taking over the world. That's what they said in an interview with the people who run Typepad! Isn't that super cool! :)

Hah! I can paw wool in my sleep! But it really was like a twenty hour day, thank you so much. And I dreamed about wool. Red Cascade 220. Sock yarn. Mmmmmmmmmm. All you yarn voyeurs, I'll be posting about the box tomorrow. (Sunday)

FAB socks - I am on a perpetual Sock Bender...
I believe that fiber blog report - it's thrilling to know that HiTech has helped resurrect the almost extinction of our crafts - what a perfect way to record and share our adventures!

Loved your don't break the ice story! Supergirl used the mallet pretty masterfully (and with gusto) when we played.
The first time I learned about blogs was for a project I was GA for at school, and the woman helping me set up the website was talking about them and told me how they are popular mostly with knitters. I was so intrigued, and now I'm hooked!

Ann, thanks for visiting my blog. Is there some place I can go to read about the Sisterhood? I might be interested if you still have that opening. Thanks!

It does seem that knitting and blogging go hand in hand -- I find that I almost assume that someone who knits also blogs, and I'm surprised when they don't. I wish I had known about the Sisterhood when there was still time to get in, but I can enjoy vicariously through everyone's blogs!
