First up is Leo progress. The pattern notes talk about the Egyptian themes in this scarf: the idealized lions; the scarabs pushing the sun across the blue bands. Perfect for this time of year. Warm and satisfyingly squooshy to knit, but with an eye towards the warmth to come. That's one repeat of 10. Yeah, it'll take a long time to knit. A loooong time.
And again I say: this scarf is a hard one in which to establish a rhythm. Every row is different and builds on the last row in a different way. I'm very chart dependent while I knit. And do NOT talk to me. Also, I am nowhere near "Starmoore" gauge. Lucky it's a scarf, not something fitted. Harumph.
But isn't it lovely. Oh my. It is.
Cathy's second sock is done -- the first one fit just fine so I finished up the second lickety split. I'll gift them this week. Can I just say that this sock fits snuggly over my hand. And fits perfectly over her foot. Gene pool variety I'd say. And petite people are really fast to knit for.
Here is new sock yarn from On Line: Tropic Colors, number 925. We got it in at the store and I got two skeins. Sock yarn is allowed. And this sock yarn has turquoise, olive, apple green, barn red, sky blue -- oh, it's fun. That's a toe-up knee sock, leg pattern to be determined. It's for not-petite-at-all me and will take awhile. Or maybe not as the progression of colors amuses me endlessly. This whole collection is cool. The colors are edgy, as far as self-patterning sock yarn goes, and the yarn knits up nicely on the 1s I prefer for sock knitting. I'd get each colorway if there were time enough...

I am so impressed with the colorwork. WOW. The sock yarn and sock are stunning and cheerful. I love it.

What a lovely bright post for a Sunday morning! That colorwork is gorgeous! I'm being very tempted by colorwork right now and you are just feeding the flames, you temptress. But I must be realistic and finish up a bunch of the WIPs before I start anything new -- I don't really care for that bogged down feeling. But I'll get my vicarious enjoyment from your knitting!

Holy hell that is one heck of a scarf! I would go cross-eyed trying to read the chart...nevermind the fact that I have never used a chart but I can ONLY imagine! It will be stunning though when you are done! :)
That sock yarn is sweet....I love the color combination. Seems like anymore when I look for something "different" they all look the same to me somehow.

I love that scarf! You are doing an excellent job! I plan to order a sweater kit from that company for my birthday. Can you tell me what the issue with the guage is? Anything else you can tell me about the quality of yarn/pattern and customer service would help too. Thanks!

Hey, Anne, is it too late to join 40 Days for Others? I'll be knitting for Dulaan, same as last year.
