It's hard to get back in the saddle after you've fallen off the horse and stayed off for more than a year.
I miss blogging, but I'm still a little blocked when it comes to putting my thoughts here again. Facebook makes it easy to shoot out quips and quick little blurbs, but an extended ramble seems to have been beyond me.
Working at it seems to be the way to rediscover the joy of this thing, don't you think? And I need to learn to use my new camera. One problem with the blog was that we lost our good camera while we vacationed this summer. With it we lost most of our vacation pictures and many others. Boo.
Here is one of the first pictures I took with our new Christmas camera -- an Olympus alphabet-and-number something. Idiot proof and lots of work to do more than scratch the surface.
I loved my holiday florals this year. Shamelessly ripped off by my florist from a cute catalog.
More than floral arrangements happened here this year, though.
This was the year of the knit along. I ran 5 of them for the shop and more than a hundred customers knit sweaters and accessories for themselves and loved ones with my help. So fun.
There were Rockefeller shawls all over the place. There were Vitamin D sweaters and Elizabeth Zimmermann Percentage System sweaters and Cascade Cabled sweaters. There were, of course Earflap hats too. Lots and lots of knitting classes.
I even took two of my classes on the road to a fiber event in southern Missouri this fall.
We travelled to Orlando three times this year as hubster opened several big projects down there this past spring. If you get the chance to go the the Atlantis experience at Kennedy Space Center, it's well worth the effort.
Here we are at the opening event for Space Shuttle Atlantis: Meet a Legend in June.
There. I've bitten off a small bit. Back in the saddle. The horse should be named mixed metaphor. That's all.
