Wow. I got more hits yesterday than I have ever gotten. And one comment. From my good blog friend Ruth. I made my contest reference too obscure I think, because you all were all in the archives and old comments and I even got my first, second and third google hits (all on knitting stuff, no fun a crazy stuff like Stitchy). Still. You know, a few weeks ago was national de-lurker week and it kind of hit home. I'm a serious lurker. I don't post a comment unless I've really got something to say or I feel like I know someone and it'd be rude to visit her living room without saying something, forGod'ssake. I've taken Queer Joe's blog admonitions to heart (click on newcomers and then scroll down to blog comments)...I think we all have. Wendy and the Harlot receive tens if not hundreds of comments per post...I think they read them all, even if some are 'yeah, what she said' kind of posts. I've gotten notes back from both of them answering some comment or query I've left (how DO you get Typepad to get folk's emails so you can respond to comments, anyway?). I'll keep lurking ('cause, really, I don't always have something witty to say) and I'll keep checking to see how many of you lurk...( 85 comments out of 4406 page views since August 30th for an average of 2 hits out of a hundred resulting in comments). What's your average? Which posts lure commenters out of the blogland woodwork? My kitty's passing did it for me. We knitbloggers are a very comforting bunch, especially, I think, where cats are concerned. But contests, literary or otherwise, have not resulted in any kind of spike in comments. Not a greedy bunch, we knitters. Even where yarn is concerned. Counterintuitive, that. Good on you all. I think.
How about this for a better hint. It's name is something literary. And I referenced the yarn on the blog earlier this season. And I know you all knit one of these last year, I'm just behind the curve! Contest ends Sunday night.
On to Something else
We got new yarn in at the shop yesterday, and I have to say...I'm not really a cotton/polyamid kinda gal, but damn! This stuff is GORGEOUS. It's Classic Elite Premier and I know. It looks fairly normal in the picture. Touching is all, in this case though...I just wanted to stick my face in this stuff. It'll be perfect for summer stuff, and baby stuff (look at those greens and pinks! And that icy blue...Frosty blue they call it -- it like glows in the dark -- fabulous colors!) So, as it is with all retail, we have leapfrogged a season. In the shop yesterday, there was a definite whiff of spring. Bring it on.
O.k. ... I'm guessing that you're making Charlotte's Web out of the Koigu pictured in the Nov. 30th post ... even though in that same post you claimed to be looking for something else to do with the yarn. For extra bonus points I'll guess that the yarn in the picture is the skein all the way to the right in the Nov. 30th shot.

Oh, and as for comments on the blog ... the most comments I received were for the post showing all my Harry Potter projects, with most attention being paid to the House Gloves. Nice pats on the back, there.
Second highest was probably my post lamenting my youngest child's recent behavior ... as you said, knitters are a very encouraging and sympathetic lot.
