Guess what this is. 
I mean all of it...yarn and pattern. (yes, it might require sleuthing on your part) See, it's a secret gift for a dear friend. So I'm not showing the whole thing. It's what's been taking up my knitting time this week. I'm almost halfway through. Complete pics after it's been gifted.
(I was going to give you a hint, but you all know what this is...Oh darn, that's a hint isn't it...)
First to guess (use the comments) gets the Mountain Colors Bearfoot in the Red Tail Hawk colorway (deep russet, navyish black, gold, browns). Certainly enough to make a size 13 pair of men's socks. Believe me. I've done it.
I ordered this like 6 months ago, it was backordered, I forgot about it. I found two skeins of it here in the Lou and bought them. The two skeins I backordered came in the mail yesterday. Now I have 5 (One leftover since I thought there was no way I'd get two socks, two large men's socks, out of one skein. Insurance you know.) It is destined for a fallish, leafy shawl. But, you know, not all 5 skeins worth. Only like three, plus a pair of socks for me...So, short story long, you guess what the mystery knitting is, I'll send you the yarn. On a first-come-first-served-basis, of course. Well, on the first-come-first -served, as the word "a" leaves a little wiggle room and I'm only giving away one skein...
Wow. I really should lay off the coffee after the third mug. Really.
It's .... something pretty. Being made out of pretty yarn.
I'm hopeless. And clueless. But can't wait to see what you're up to with this!

One reason you may not get many comments is that people need to sign in. Since I have Typepad and acount already it's easy for me. My guess is that you're knitting Charlotte's Web. It looks a bit familiar;-)

Hmmm -- maybe a lace wrap. How's that for a vague answer. For literary reference -- I'm too brain dead to guess today. However, I second the first post --- it is very pretty!

My guess is Kimono Shawl from Folk Shawls. I just happened to have the book in front of me while working through blogland. The yarn...I don't know, something you picked up from Judy? It a pretty colorway.:) Regardless, I'm sure it will turn out beautifully!
