Squeee! Look what came in the mail today!
It's the Hello Yarn Handspun Thick and Thin Shawl. (Say that three times fast!) These things are like hen's teeth, 'cause Adrian makes so few of them. AND I got it in the brown, reddish pink colorway that calls me.
Dang, I might have to put the Olympics aside for a little bit and cast this baby on. I'm halfway done with the shrug anyway...and I love it too --
the bumpiness of the differently oriented blocks reminds me of a quilt. And the blocks make the handpainted yarn sing.
...And I love these Sockapalooza socks -- ready to turn the heel on the
first one of those. Isn't the cable neat? Little eyelets all along it? These are fun to knit. And the yarn is actually pooling, that's not a trick of the camera -- very subtle and lovely.
Man. So much to knit, so little time. So very trite. So sue me.
Quel swag!
(Speaking of swag, I want you to know the Supersocke is sitting next to the keyboard where I can fondle it at will.)

Annie Annie Annieeeeeee!!!!!! Oh the handspun is SOOO PRETTTYYYYYYY! And the shawl looks so nice too - what yarn are you using? Is that entrelac? Oh, maybe I should see if I can click for a bigger view. hehe Hey, where did you get that cable pattern? Looks very similar to what I'm planning for my SockPal too!

Your shrug is coming along beautifully -- but don't forget, only a week left of the Olympics! (The handspun shawl does look tempting, though)

How is the shrug pattern done? It looks like 'swung st st' you can do on a KM by filling in the holes created when doing lace
