Wasn't that a zinger? I kept waiting for some sort of "oh, they're both right, we have to compromise, blah blah" and instead, he points right back at the crucifix, at the intersection, and I didn't see it coming and whoa.


I can tell you which candidate I think is more likely to try to find that common space. It's the one who says let's try to work together on goals we agree on, like reducing the number of abortions. Of course, practical ways of working toward the common goal may be unpalatable to extremists at one or the other or even both ends, but I consider even daring to state the common goal to be progress.
